who are we?

Kanagi was once known as a booming logging/sawmill town and helped to rebuild Japan after World War II. OMF International started work in 1953, but with the 60's great exodus of rural people to the cities decided to redeploy it's workers in 1966. In 1994, Goshogawara Church resumed ministry with three lady members and OMF missionaries. In 1998 the Ghents were led to assist with pastoral responsibilies. In 1999, Kanagi Chapel along with the Itayanagi Chapel, and the International Chapel, helped to establish the Tsugaru Gospel Church. From 2001-2005 Makoto Takase, as Assistant Pastor of the Tsugaru Church lived and ministered in the Chapel. In May 2005, the residence was enlarged and OMF missionaries, Armin and Heike Messer moved to assist with church planting. They are on home assignment in Germany until January 2008.
